Le Pain d'Antan is one of Wallonia’s favourite bakeries: your vote counts!

There are mornings when it all begins right there. The cosy counter, the smell of the still-warm oven, the brown paper bag you slip under your arm before heading off again. Habits like these aren’t something you just make up. They’re built up, shop by shop, customer by customer, over the past 25 years at Le Pain d’Antan.

A Walloon campaign is putting these artisans in the spotlight. And Le Pain d'Antan is taking part.

The Election of Wallonia’s 100 Favourite Bakeries and Patisseries

Organised by the Fédération francophone des boulangers-pâtissiers with the support of Apaq-W, the Maître Boulanger-Pâtissier campaign has been running for several years to defend and promote independent craftsmanship in Wallonia. Every spring, a poll invites consumers to vote for their favourite bakery.

In 2025, 26,870 votes were cast. 100 bakeries were selected. This year, the results will be certified by a bailiff, and the top 5 per province will be highlighted at a press conference.

Voting is open from 1 to 30 June 2026.

What the Master Baker-Pastry Chef label means

All the bakeries participating in the campaign have signed a charter of commitment. It covers home-made production in accordance with best practice, the absolute freshness of everything that leaves the bakery each day, the quality of the flours and raw ingredients, and AFSCA hygiene standards.

Le Pain d'Antan adheres fully to these standards. Every day, our bakeries prepare bread, pastries and cakes by hand, with the same high standards as on day one. The recipes change with the seasons. The care we take, however, remains constant.

Why vote?

Your vote is not just a formality. It sends a clear message: that you prefer hand-kneaded bread to bread churned out on an industrial production line. That your local artisan deserves to be seen, recognised and supported. That your Sunday morning croissant comes from a specific place.

Independent bakeries in Wallonia face competition that isn’t playing in the same league. A vote is also a way to influence this balance of power.

How to vote for Le Pain d’Antan?

Visit the election website before midnight on 30 June 2026.

Select your Le Pain d'Antan bakery and cast your vote. It takes a minute. No more.

And if you usually pop in on Saturday mornings for your strawberry tart or weekend brioche, now’s the time to let them know!
