Our bakery in Céroux-Mousty, voted the Walloons’ favourite bakery and patisserie in 2026
On 9 September, our bakery in Céroux-Mousty was named ‘My region’s favourite bakery and patisserie, 2026’. This was not an award granted by an external jury, but rather the result of a vote by our customers. By you all. Quite simply: thank you!
A customer vote, nothing else
Throughout the month of June, 628 registered artisan bakers in Wallonia invited their customers to vote for their favourite bakery. The final result: 23,118 votes, 457 Walloon bakeries that received at least one vote, and a hundred of these have been included in the 2026 ranking of the Walloons’ favourite bakeries and patisseries.
Eight municipalities, eight bakeries, and ours
In Walloon Brabant, 41 bakeries took part. Eight made it into the top 100, one per municipality: Wavre, Rixensart, Nivelles, Mont-Saint-Guibert, Genappe, Orp-Jauche and Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve, which is represented twice: in Louvain-la-Neuve and here at ours, in Céroux-Mousty.
What is special about Walloon Brabant is that votes tend to be more widely distributed here than elsewhere. In the other provinces, 93.4 per cent of voters chose a bakery in their own municipality. Here, that percentage drops to 85 per cent. Many of our customers work in Brussels, Namur or Charleroi, and the bakery on the way to work is sometimes just as important as the one further down the street. The fact that we’re holding our own despite this spread of votes says a lot about the loyalty of our local customer base.
What goes on behind our counter
Behind every loaf of bread sold at Céroux-Mousty lies a handmade product, fruit selected according to the season, and recipes that honour tradition and craftsmanship. It is these practices, repeated for twenty-five years, that our customers rewarded us for in June. Thank you very much!
Do pop in to Céroux-Mousty
And some good news: the ‘Master Baker and Pastry Chef 2026’ campaign doesn’t stop here. During October, a major competition will see five winners chosen – one per province – who will win a year’s supply of free bread. So the celebrations continue for our regular customers at Céroux-Mousty… and at our other bakeries across Wallonia!
